Rally armor flaps and dropped cars

Ha 2nd post today here... DId a lot of exterior stuff today.
So i'm on Tein flex coilovers with EDFC. I'm dropped, I dont know how many inches.
So i've go the rallyarmor flaps on and OMG wow the car looks like a sexy beast! LOL
the only issue is theres about only 3-4inches distance form the flaps to the ground maybe 5
its fine on driving however going up my driveway i have to go VERY slow and going down and on speed bumps... wow damn go VERY slow
it seems to scrap a little
anyone else have problems? What do you do... I rather not raise the car.. its setup perfect now
anyone ever experince bad damage to those flaps?

the flaps will be able to handle whatever you throw at them- :)
If you ever want to raise them, just tap a set of holes under the stock ones on the flaps..

Costas is right.... My wagon is on STI springs (wagon springs :)) and they do scrape from time to time when mounted on the stock mounting points... With no ill affects... You can't even tell that I have rubbed them on speed bumps had chunks of mud and dirt beat on them... Even in very cold weather they seem to flex just enough so as to not crack or break....
That is why we carry them... A quality product at a really great price. :)

haha, my flaps will DRAG constantly with 4 people in my car.
also, don't worry if they hit the ground once in a while (rallyarmor flaps are soft right?)

well they are kind of stiff.
The flaps are like 3 inches away from the ground. Its just that i've got speed bumps all over my school and i've gotta just get the hang of driving over em
i love the look and i love my drop

No kidding? I've got a handful of friends up at Curry and I used to be up there all the time (pre-WRX). I'm surprised I haven't seen you there. My friends are all seniors but I have been meaning to go up there, so I'll go up this next semester and maybe catch you there. I used to have a black 300ZX that I brought up there a few times, maybe 2 years ago?

I thought you might have gone to curry, judging by your location and you saying that your school has a million speedbumps. Getting my old Z up that hill near the gym (past the Napkin center) was horrible. Can't wait to blast up it in the snow in the WRX
Aaaaanyways.... back to the topic.
Edit: D'oh! Double post. accidentally hit finish before I was done.

I had a similar problem, but I just redrilled mounting holes and moved them up a bit. It's very easy to do and it's nice not havving them drag all the time.

I spent a lot of time scraping the RA flaps backing out of my driveway daily. I'd also scrape a lot pulling out of steep entrances/exits like gas stations. The flaps took every last bit of all that scraping and didn't crack or even wear away. They're great for that, and I loved peoples reactions when they heard it because they thought I was bottoming out. This was on Eibach springs.

Scraping your mudflaps is perfectly normal. :) They're merely chunks of plastic/rubber destined for abuse (so the side of your car doesn't get abused). :D

I'm rocking the Rally Armor flaps too. I'm lowered on AGX's and H&R springs. My driveway really sucks and I constantly bottom them out every day. No big deal, they put up with the abuse :)

I've had one of the first sets put out without the logo since 04.....
Awesome sets of flaps..
I just let it scrape and let it smooth itself out.... :D

HAHA thats what I was thinking... im like eh overtime it will just fix its self... It scares me everytime though... CRUNCH im like *** WAS THAT!
they proved SOOOO helpful today. Drove NY to mass in snow and rain. It sucked but the LM-22s, brembos, and those flaps kept me solid

I'm slammed and I've already ripped off a front one. w00t!
| Roffa | 01-04-2006 04:30 AM |
Does not matter if they hit the ground only issue you may have with flaps are if you ever back up to a sidewalk or over a "big" rock.. Then the flap may be ripped..
| akinasdevil | 01-04-2006 05:13 AM |
I'm on JDM pink springs and my Rally Armor flaps scrape every once in awhile. No big deal, you may get some little strands of plastic hanging off them but they scrape right off the next time. And they are flexible and bend so eventually they will wear themselves to a point where they will no longer scrape the ground. And if they get too short for your tastes just drill some holes so they hang lower.
| Ahzlon | 01-04-2006 10:15 AM |
I have homemade rallyflaps from scoobymods.com... mine scrape and drag pretty much all the time... especialy if the car is loaded up with all the gear for a rallycross... don't worry about them draggin... just becareful backing up in tall grass or bumping up against a curb going backwards... if the rally armor ones are as tough as my scoobymods and u back up over them you'll take ur bumper off ;) *guilty*
