Ramada Express Rally, anyone going? part 1

Ramada Express Rally, anyone going?
Anyone heading down to Laughlin for the rally?? Haven't seen too much info or press on it on NASIOC. I'm planning on going down there to shoot some pictures and have a good time. I've been wanting to see this one for a while now and will head down there with a couple of rally teams.
RacingBlue 11-25-2004 11:10 AM

It's a really fun event. The Rally, the Adventuire Rally, and Gravel Crew's Rally X, cheap quality rooms and big casinos too. Can't be beat.

Quality rooms? You must be talking about another town!

I might be going, we'll see.
RacingBlue 11-25-2004 02:37 PM

Read cheap / quality, the Bellagio is just 80 minutes up the road if that will work for yuh.
WRXMaster 11-25-2004 03:18 PM

I will be down there bumming around
montana_slim 11-25-2004 04:47 PM

Sweet! Glad to see there will be a few of us down there. OUTBACK2.5HO will be down there as well, with the #294 "Leggy" rally car.
Rally during the day, hit the casinos and kick back a few with some good friends in the evening. Sounds like a perfect time. Can't wait to go. I'll put pics on the board for sure. Now...If the organizers would hurry up and get me my press pass, everything will be in order.

I'll be there at the RallyX

The boss just okay'ed the time off, so I'll be there! I've been looking forward to this all year.
RoundtheBend 11-26-2004 11:56 AM

I'll be there co-driving.

Now that Turkey Day is over, it's time to get the loose ends tied up and get ready to have some fun at the last rally of the year! :D

Just a few small details that need addressed on the rally car, should be ready to rally hard by next week. :)

wrxmaster, we need to hook up down there for sure, got some catching up to do after OT..

Who's ready for the snow? It snowed about a foot down there a couple of days ago.. Bring your snow tires & longjohns. ;)

Yea we shall have some fun! Casino was good to me last year :disco: Need anything ?spare tires? extra wheels?
outback2.5HO 11-26-2004 04:44 PM

Like to gamble, but think I'll try and save my luck for the stages... ;)

Do you have any snow tires? Trying to track down a set.
Where are you staying?
WRXMaster 11-27-2004 01:22 PM

I am going to be staying at the ramada ................ I dont have snow tires --- but I have some really skinny rally tires
Porsche914boxer4 11-27-2004 05:25 PM

I'll be there.

Laughlin trash talk:

Should be a blast! Rooms $18.
montana_slim 11-28-2004 01:31 PM

yeah RacingBlue , I've been following the trash talk thread as well. Just got the plane tickets the other day (thanks to B..). Got pumped up for Ramada last night watching LSPR on Speed. Is there a better way to spend a couple of days away from work than by going down and catching a couple days of rally? :D
montana_slim 11-28-2004 01:35 PM

Well....maybe a full body massage on the shores of Aruba or something. But, whatcha gonna do? Maybe the Ramada Express Hotel has a massage table, then we'd have the best of both worlds. ;)

I'll be there. First event this year I'm _not_ running in a Subaru!

Sno*Drift: Subaru
Perce Neige: Subaru
Rim of the World: Subaru
Lake Superior: Subaru
Tall Pines: Subaru
Ramada: Swedish steel!

I'd have Bill bring the 'ru and run in Open, but we think we can win G2 and recoup the entry fee, so Ovlov it is.

*****, I only ran six events this year? I suck. Next year, full season!

Definitely Going
I'll be there co-driving for Victor Kuhns. We had a great time at the event last year. The Friday stages are different than in previous years, so snow might be minimal.

Sweet! Just got confirmation on my press pass. That took way too long, but alas it is mine. I've had press passes before from the SCCA but this was a new venue (for me) with different organizers and criteria. Now to figure out where the best photo ops are... I've wanted to see this rally for quite some time, and judging by the field, it shouldn't dissapoint.
Glad to see so many of us going to Ramada. Hope I get a chance to meet most of you down there and grab a drink or two.

I'll flip through my notes and try to find the big jump on Saturday. It was either Black Canyon North or Grand Canyon North.

We went the last two years and had a blast. :)

If I didn't have a work commitment that same weekend, we'd be going this year, too.

Aaron,

I dug around in my rally box and couldn't find the 2nd day stage notes for Ramada. I'm sure they ended up with the stuff stored at Victor's (driver) place. I'll try to get the info to you before we leave for Laughlin on Tuesday, but if I don't look for us in the Ramada service park spaces 106 - 112.

Abel

That'd be great. I'll try and look you guys up on Thursday or late Wednesday if possible. Our plane gets into Vegas kind of late of Wed. though, so we'll see. Thanks for looking for the jump. I kind of figured there'd be at least one jump out there somewhere. This being my first Ramada experience, I need all the help I can get to find the premo locations. Thanks!

OK, I will be there Saturday only due to work in Vegas Friday and family stuff at home Sunday.

Glenn,

Glad you can make it down, even for a day..It should be a fun event to be a part of. :)

Know too well about those home projects, getting a bunch done before heading out. That makes coming home from the rally a bit easier.. :D
