SCCA Nationals Registraton - Late Fee Starts Tomorrow
If you've put off registering, then you need to register today before the late fee comes into effect tomorrow.

Get registered people!! (And there's already over 1000 people registered!)

I can't believe the #5 STX impostor has not registered yet!

Anyway, good luck to all the Subies! Wish I could be there!

I can't believe the Danas switched from BMW to Honda.:(

36 entries in STX so far and not all the 2 driver cars have both drivers listed!!!
TheWRX 08-14-2003 02:13 PM

Tom is probably waiting for the weather forecast. As we all know now, he can only win if it rains! :p

It's hard to imagine running with so many fast people. I was excited when I lined up behind Kiko at my first national event this spring, and this will be the same thing with almost 10 times as many drivers!

RK, #42 STX

38 now, it's more than in DS, which has 29 now, with only 5 WRX entrants (two of which are co-driven, so 3 cars total).
Dussander 08-14-2003 03:54 PM

:(
You guys drink an extra beer for me.

Maybe I can make one of the SE shootouts later in the year.
trhoppe 08-14-2003 04:24 PM

I faxed in my entry like 3 weeks ago :o

The funniest thing about that prediction is that if it rains keith will probably win

<--- teh suck in the rain.....

i wonder if Tom knows it's all his for next year. i'll be some goofy number like 73 or 86 next season. i'm tired of running first at all the bigger events!

besides, i'll be in ESP with my 245/45-16 Victo's and 3.5" catless exhaust anyway....
MNbiker 08-15-2003 09:07 AM

Speaking of Nationals, has anyone read their latest SportsCar yet? The "experts" are predicting Brian Garfield (Mini) will beat the horde of Subie's in STX. Guess we shouldn't even show up in Topeka!

p.s. Tom, get your butt in gear and register!
trhoppe 08-15-2003 09:28 AM

I think the experts are going to be WAY off this year (unless it rains of course)

I called this morning and talked to nancy "yea I remember seeing your entry, I wonder why its not on the webpage. Let me check........yea it seems we don't have it for some reason, can you refax it?"

I guess I'm glad I called. Changed the tire choice to "Continental 245/30/20" I wonder if they will put that on the webpage and entry list

And we'll have one chocolate milk for Mr. Casey coming up. I hope the spill didn't do too much damage. ;)

hey guys, i finally signed up for nationals. it'll be fun racing with you guys again. This is my first nationals so its going to be interesting. Hopefully i'm not too far behind you guys. we should all go to dinner or hang out sometime during that week.

-Jason
bbimpreza 08-19-2003 07:15 AM

I am debating whether to run STX with you guys or stay in STS. I have a feeling that those fraken Hondas will be tough to beat. I know that Jason will let me drive his car. I don't think my RS would be able to keep up that well. See you guys there.

Billy
trhoppe 08-19-2003 07:44 AM

Its ON now  I'm officially signed up

Looks like about 40 entries for STX. Not too shabby for a 2nd year class. We have everyone beat except for BS, CS, CP, STS. Thats pretty amazing.....

-Tom
KC 08-19-2003 09:21 AM

Ok, who let the Civics in? :D (One driven my Marc Dana... who's is that? And the other is the 'borrowed' Shenenfield RedShift civic.)

Has anyone beat the top STS civics in a Tour this year? Looks like we have our work cut out for us.

We got 44 in the class now. :)

Hmmmm, AS should be interesting with an STI and an EVO mixing it up with the Vettes and the Bimmerhaus BMW's...

Yes, for the ones here that plan on winning, you'd better keep an eye on Courtney, he's fast. From what I have seen at the national events I ran, and looked at results of others, the main contenders to win STX are (in alphabetical order): Casey, Cormier, Hoppe, Matteucci, Meade, Seibt.

Marc's driving it in STX, Jean's driving it in STXL.

Tom and I have both beat Heyward Wagner at SE Divisionals. I beat him and I drove like crap, granted, the course was more of a horsepower course then normal.
trhoppe 08-19-2003 11:43 AM

I have run faster then STS at every single event I've been to :)

Don't forget Russell Blume & Jeff Brown (both National Champs, by the way). Russell's trying to come up with an E30 M3 for Nationals - with a more competitive car, he could be really tough. Jeff was really fast last weekend at Peru - beating Todd Meade in his own car by a good margin.

I doubt Russ will pull out a sorted STX E30 M3 out of the proverbial magic hat in the next month... He's never mentioned such a plan to me, anyways...

Corey 08-20-2003 07:50 AM

STS trophies go all the way back to 15th place! I'd like to take home some wood. Working on a 4th and 5th place finish at the tours I attended this year.

I'll be swapping paint with Chris S. and Tad K. this friday. It'll be good practice on getting my butt wooped.

See you guys there!

He mentioned it to us at the Peru Pro's a couple weeks ago. Even if he comes up with an M3, I'd agree that getting it well sorted by Nationals is unlikely.

Unless he co-drives another M3.
trhoppe 08-20-2003 01:49 PM

I find this talk about "sorted" kind of funny.

There aren't ANY cars in STX that are "sorted"

Every one of the top guys has changed their car countless times this year....

-Tom
Hey wait a minute! I can count up to 6!!!

1) Added suspension/exhaust/header
2) Added Unichip
3) Removed Unichip
4) Added Porterfields
4) Removed porterfields, added Carbotechs and increased rear spring rate.

-Tom
Heh. Sundays event was quite an eye opener to what this car is now capable of. Sunday is a slow tight course, so we'll see how it is on the slow stuff.

I think on concrete, even the bumpy stuff, this is going to be THE setup.
trhoppe 08-20-2003 05:23 PM
I think on concrete, even the bumpy stuff, this is going to be THE setup
Yup agreed there :)

I *almost* did that, but decided to wait until after nationals to radically change the car. We'll see how the camber changes work for now....

It's Heyward's car. They are going to throw a diff in it after STS competition. Marc and Jean are trying it out this weekend. Jean is afraid that she may not have enough bicep to move the car around (no power steering + diff). She asked me about borrowing the car for STXL is she doesn't like the Civic.

My car sounds like a Honda now anyway
