I am not a photographer and dont claim to be. I just took some pictures this past weekend.
Some notables are Chris Dyson, Rob Dyson, Chad Block, Wayne Block, Head of Lola cars England, Stephan Sarrazin, James Weaver(eating),Oliver Gavin,Mel Hawkins ( Knighthawk Racing) and many crew members from various teams.
I was lucky to hang out with Mel Hawkins, Wayne Block, Andy Lally, and a host of other ALMS and SPEED regulars. ..oh and the wing master him self ,Chad (and Kelly) Block...(lol)...
Canon Rebel 8.0 was used with almost dead battery. ( thanks Kelly-E. !! ) lol.
Enjoy !!

Thought this looked weird. 2006 Porsche Cayman S with a 911 nose conversion, I presume?

Dude, those guys are in front of turn 6 and they have it for the next 10 years or something they said. Paid already for 5 and secured for 10. They had so much food it was incredible. The infield parties were more like spring break in that regard. Infield people didnt seem to care about racing as much as just getting drunk. Yes those wings were very good looking too !! The wing smell lingered for a mile too. You were drawn over there like a kid when your mom makes a cake. LOL.

Very nice pictures. That C6r was beatiful. After last weekend when a friend of mine showed up to the auto-x with a c6 z06, I have become a leg humper for that car.

I like the picture of James Weaver eating what looks like a beans and toast sammich.
On TV it is hard to tell such things, but how quiet was the Audi?

The Audi's were so quiet that when they pulled out a good lead over the Porsche's, I could hear my wife on the phone without saying.." hold on honey,.." like when the 911 GT3RSR's go by. They are TOO quiet. If tomorrow I woke up and I were 40lbs lighter, from Monaco and had money to buy a ride in a customer based TDI for 2007,.........(lol)..I would want the car to be louder. I am not alone ,.anyone there will tell you the Audi's were THE least loud of ALL the cars racing. I really think the Audi PAce car S4 was louder.

nah.. I actually didn't drive down there.. I rode with my dad and my uncle..
Thanks for the compliment on the photos. What kind of lens were you using on that Rebel?
I still think your being too humble on saying yours are not good photography. They look great to me.

I used a SIGMA plain jane lens. It was dirty with mustard on the side LOL. I worked in the coroners office for 2 months while in college taking photography. Saw some nasty stuff that stays with you actually. Used an old brass body Pentax that my uncle had in Vietnam from 5th grade to 12th, then played with my ex's medium format Mamiya that was AWESOME !! Then did nothing for years and picked up a Nikon point and shoot 5.2 pix and now I want a Rebel for myself.

The Prodrive Aston Martin has got to be the best looking car there. I thought the Mercedes CLK DTM series was only available in Germany, that thing is sweet.
I was watching some of the race on TV over the weekend and knew I thought the new Audi TDI sounded quiet. The announcers were saying they could barely hear it coming out of the pits. Myles, if the S4 pace car was louder then the new TDI must really be quiet.

Def good times. I swear that golf kart had the restrictor removed. We could run down anybody this weekend, most other golf karts were 2 seconds off the pace,..at least. We should get the on board and download it. .....  We also need more camber in the front and there was wicked cross weight too !! LOFL..
quiet isnt the best word..............WIMPY !! ..but FASSSSSTTT..
I wonder if they are doing a big muffler on purpose as part of a green marketing effort? Hey, they have more than 800 lb-ft of torque, I'm sure they can give up a little to make it quiet. ;)

TDi reminded me of the jetsons, it was truly amazing at how quiet it was,
i first heard it run in the paddocks the night before the race as they were working on the #1 car and running it through the gears witht he car up in the air, it sounded horrible like a bunch of metal clanking around, i assumed it was cause there was no load on the drive train,
the audi camp def. was serious though

I like the old-school Gulf paintjob on that one Porsche. Reminds me of the Porsche 917 and the Ford GT40.
