Here is my car:

Just wondering what everyone thinks on the whole debadging thing...

Everything off, Subaru off, Just WRX, Just Impreza, leave stock...

Here is the front:

Go everything. Why not, right?
wrxking02 08-30-2005 11:59 AM

Debage And L:eave The Wrx
toadie 08-30-2005 12:04 PM

HappyIdiot 08-30-2005 12:04 PM

I debaged a couple days ago and couldn't be happier

everything?

oh yeah, and I saw on another forum someone used USA from Subaru and left just that on the trunk. Pretty interesting I thought.

I like the WRX only badge. Keep it simple.

The USA idea seems pretty cool.
DJ_STI 08-30-2005 01:44 PM

i would get rid of them all. a lot of punks like taking a screwdriver to them and pull them off scratching the car. it's also easier to wash/wax
CPTsWRX 08-30-2005 01:47 PM

try putting USA above the WRX and see how that looks. or in the same place as the WRX but on the other side. Otherwise I'd say leave just the WRX.
CPTsWRX 08-30-2005 01:48 PM

looking at the pictures the key hole is on the other side. USA WRX may be cool though
Protege Menace 08-30-2005 02:10 PM

no, it will look like a kia.

check the other thread in member gallery for how it looks.
Cartwright 08-30-2005 02:27 PM

Last week I'd have voted to leave it all on but after having my STi badge stolen, in addition to a small amount of paint, I voted for a complete debadging.
jacobsen1_ 08-30-2005 02:58 PM

still on the fence and I need more answers people....

but I guess it's 12-4 for removing SUBARU if you add all the bottom options

Ben
IntraWRX 08-30-2005 03:13 PM

leave it stock...it looks el cheapo without badging
kujo79 08-30-2005 03:15 PM

I would remove everything and stick a "prodrive" sticker..

well actually i just took "subaru" off mine. and left "impreza", "wrx" and "sti".

im adding that prodrive sticker to the back of my rear window.
eminehart 08-30-2005 04:11 PM

I just left the SUBARU and took off Impreza WRX
CapeRex 08-30-2005 04:15 PM

Remove SUBARU,leave everything else.Looks the cleanest.Totally debadged is too close to tuner show-car territory (I like factory stock clean).
blkwrx02 08-30-2005 06:37 PM

My car is 4 years old. Thats 4 years of sun and dirt. I have been thinking about removing the SUBARU for 2 years but was afraid the paint had faded. Any opinions?
stokdd 08-30-2005 08:35 PM

My father's WRX and my STi are both naked ;)
fireball_jones 08-30-2005 08:40 PM

Drop the Subaru, it's the JDM way!

Plus it's a lot, lot easier to wax the trunk afterwards. And I would personally rather look at paint than emblems.
grannyshifter 08-30-2005 08:41 PM

it will look alot cleaner if you debadge it.
kero 08-30-2005 08:43 PM

How in the world do you guys get these off without harming the paint??
R_W 08-30-2005 09:08 PM

Leave only WRX. I live out in the sticks, and every day I get, "what kind of car is that?"

Nice wheels.
TacticalNuke 08-30-2005 09:09 PM

My trunk is naked, I love the look. I need to get the keyhole removed and filled, though, for the ultimate smooth look.
flabele 08-30-2005 09:14 PM

Debadge everything. Your car is very clean already. Doing this would really compliment it. Nice car btw..

Thanks,

Man, this decision is harder than I thought. So far all the comments are helping, but they go back and forth and I agree with all of them...

By this weekend I will decide.

BEN!
It is SOOOO easy, just get:

Fishing line
Hair dryer
Goo-Gone Citrus Solvent
Old towels
Bit of water

Heat them emblems up one at a time, the S, the U, etc, then get the fishing line and gently slide back and forth until you are "cleanly" behind the badge, then a bit of goo-gone, do not be scared to be liberal with it, then wipe with dry towel, then scrub a bit with the damp towel, then the dry again.

It should not take you too long, remove the Subby, then see what you think...

Personally, naked is the best, it looks SOOOO smooth and classy! Those badges, are nothing but shiny plastic anyways!!!

Good luck!
jacobsen1_ 08-31-2005 10:50 AM

Superu WRX,
I know how to take it off... I just can't decide.....

I love when people ask me what kind of car it is though because of the I badge in the front, so this would just help I guess.... I just don't know .... Sometime I like with everything.... sometime I'm thinking take it all off....

but looking at the poll results, I should at least take off Subaru, and then maybe go another week and see how I like that.

Leave the badges on. The rear bumper just looks empty without them. Debadging the rear looks pretty good on wagons but for some reason to my eye at least the big flat empty look on sedan trunks just doesn't look good at all. Each to their own though.
Airborne_J 08-31-2005 01:45 PM

I took mine off within two weeks of owning the car. Mine was silver as well. There were two horizontal 1/4" blemishes in the paint under the "subaru" I'm still happy with the results. The front grill emblem came off just one week after the others

You don't have pictures do you?
Hummer 08-31-2005 03:01 PM

I voted w/o.

jacobsen1_ 09-06-2005 10:30 AM

OK, so I took off S U B A R U last night. I once I got started I was going to do the whole thing, but then the wife's girlfriend invited us out so I had to stop washing the car altogether... I will see how I like the

WRX (o)
impreza

look and next week when I wash the car again I will decide if that goes or not. I'm going to wax dat ting tonight, and then hopefully take some pictures.
