This is one of the pics (there's tan versions, too):

I just happened upon this auction while bumming around eBay. Is that nuts, or what? Of course, it'd probably take a heck of a lot to get them to fit, and WORK in an Impreza.... but...
Thought I'd share. :D

i wasn't much of a fan for leather seats...plus the headrests look a bit damaged from this angle.
| 03twrx | 06-01-2005 09:59 PM |
Nah, I'd like a set of carrera S seats. MMMmmmmmmmm
| Siper2 | 06-01-2005 10:31 PM |
I don't think the headrests are damaged, I think it's just smudgy. Plus not a very good pic. Leather might not've been cared for well, but they don't look cracked or anything...
Just couldn't believe it when I saw those. :D

Not enough support for my taste. I love the seats in the R32.

I agree. R32 seats are sweet. Porsche GT2 seats or the optional Ferrari 430 sport buckets are awesome... -looking, anyway. Never sat in either.
Why Subaru can't charge a bit extra and integrate the rest of the cost of a nice pair of Recaros into the Impreza and Legacy is beyond me. Freakin' Hyundai does it in the Tiburon, for God's sake...

i would love if the WRX seats came in Recarros...but i guess not EVERY owner would like that. :(
but until then...i can only dream of one day getting a new driver seat for my car. Either Sparco Evos or STi RA seats.

The RAs are nice, but honestly, for the money you'd pay for them (unless you got a good deal on take-outs), you're better off with aftermarket ones. In my opinion. :)
I like Cobra seats, but the ones I want--with leather to match my rear seat (since my OE front and rears are leather already)--are like $1400 EACH. Yikes...
Looks like I'll be shopping Corbeau. :D

yeah they are pretty darn pricey, but they're STI RA seats. so beautiful. :(
I'm probably going to end up getting a fixed back racing seat from Sparco. I never ever recline my chair much, so it doesn't make much sense to get a recliner seat. Plus the fixed backs are perfect for racing around in. :D
I was also considering Corbeau, they have very nice seats. unfortunately through some research, I've discovered that they have some issues with the seat brackets that they come with. Something like they don't fit properly, or have some slack with them. And I'd rather go with Sparco, who doesn't seem to get many BAD reviews about them. ;)
and Schroth harnesses. only DOT approved harnesses, so no legal issues. plus they're safer than most harnesses since they bolt on stock mounts.

Where can you get seat brackets to fit donor seats from another car to the WRX's?
| Uncle Ben | 06-02-2005 03:55 AM |
There are universal brackets that fit all Imprezas found on eBay. You can just drill into the brackets to accomodate whatever seat your putting on there... works for aftermarket seats with separate sliders, not sure about putting donor OEM seats from another car though.

eltrouble,
Hmm I remember reading something about Corbeau brackets, too. Nevertheless I sent them an Email last night, to see what kind of color-matching combination(s) they could do, with my existing rear seats and door cards. (Kind of a light grey-ish leather.)
Sparco, Recaro and Cobra are of course all contenders for me, too. As is Bride, possibly... I first thought those were just "eBay specials," since that's where I first saw them (posted all over the place in ugly fashion). Apparently that's not true.

yeah, i was damn near convinced that I'd be putting in a Corbeau in my Wagon, until I read up around here that the brackets have some issues. :(
I haven't looked into the Cobas yet...maybe I should. I'm thinking that the Recaro's are just waaaay too pricey for me. $1k for a great seat is nice, but it's a little bit too much buck for bang, if you know what I mean.

Get ready, Cobra's about in the same price league. The US distributor:
www.subesports.com
Nice stuff, though. This is the Misano L, my favorite... but $1400/each (leather):

Though I'd likely end up with a less expensive one, like the $599 (in cloth) Daytona:

Subesports sells Sparco too.

Ooooh, those are nice. But I'm not a leather guy, I just never liked the feel of leather. Pure performance for me, something that'll keep me planted through the corners and keeps me in my seat during hard braking. :D
I'm willing to spend $600-$700 for a seat, anymore than that and I'll be in debt...forever. :( Plus I still want to get the Schroth 5-point harnesses to boot.
Any difference in quality between Cobras and Sparcos? Like assuming you got one Cobra and one Sparco that were in the same price range and compared them.

Hehehe, the S203 seats are indeed drool-worthy. One of the NASIOC members took a trip to Japan and brought back some brochures, so I have an official S203 brochure that I keep in my car to read when I'm bored. :p
Those seats are hot, but people were estimating that they were a couple grand a PIECE, probably.
They're certainly beautiful, functional, and direct-fit ... but.... hot damn that's a lot of money for cloth seats...
pm6825,
Hmm I don't recall the DB7 GT seats. You're probably right, though. :) I like the new DB9. Hot car!
eltrouble,
I'm not sure about Cobra vs. Sparco. My bet is that you can't go wrong either way. Both are very reputable. Cobra's out of the UK, I think. I hadn't even heard of them until a few years ago... spotted the marketing push for one of their seats on www.rallyperformance.com (Scoobysport USA).
I like leather. Solid leather isn't as performance-friendly, but alcantara/ultrasuede inserts give you perfect grip. Plus I find leather a lot easier to care for. Doesn't rip as easily, hair/fuzz/food/whatever doesn't get permanently stained into it, most things wipe right off....
Some conditioner a few times a year, and you're set. Heck the leather in my car is five years old now, and not 100% perfect but pretty stinkin' good, for just using Lexol products:

Don't mind the dimples/creases on the passenger seat's thigh bolsters and bottom cushion. I had something stacked on it. They worked their way out.
And I don't see why a harness can't be used in the Cobras. It's got the hole in the headrest...

Those S203 seats are going to be made by Recaro seperate in black/blue as well instead of the boring all grey. They're called the SP-X and they're designed specifically for the impreza. I'm dying for a set.
