STi vs WRC Spoiler-pics

Had both on the lot at the same time so I figured it would give a good comparison between the two.
I'm a long time rally fan so there is no question in my mind which I would choose(Iif I didn't have wagon already),
What do you guys think?

I prefer the true rally wing. It balances the nose-heavy look of the car.
| dsj | 05-30-2003 06:39 PM |
Looking at them like that, I definitely think the WRC wing looks better... Way better. Nice Pics.

The rally one looks like an afterthought.

yea the WRC wing just looks off, literally. while it may serve its purpose, not my first choice for my everyday ride. I like the STi.

I'll take both :)

i like both!.....the sti looks sooo much fuller then the wrc style, yet im still partial to the wrc wing, something about it hanging off the trunk lid that makes me say "whoa!"

In a Keanu Reeves accent, or just normal? 'Cause, you know, it only has meaning if you've got the Keanu thing workin'

Need to get the new WRC wing in there. The one with the air foils in the middle. :D

STi wing looks much better, alot smoother. I think the WRC wing is a little too akward in its design.;)

Ok,,i'll play the bad guy,,they are both tooooo big fr the car;)
Rudy:D
But if i had to choose,,STI, follows the flow more.

I like the WRC wing. It adds a little more lenght to the car, which I think it benfits from, visually. The STi wing is bigger, therefore, I don't like it quite as much.

anyone have pictures comparing sti version gdb-c wing, "version 7" replica wing(autoearth.com) , replica 22b wing for wrx?, or know the differences, besides the 22b one being adjustable

Lets see more pics of that STi badboy!
I saw my first one driving around yesterday, we were in my friends Audi, and I was hanging out the window sticking out a 'thumbs up' sign to the driver (who looked as if he was about 60 yrs old:p --but I trust he appreciates it, seeing as theyre only offered in manual), while my friend just couldnt understand why I was doing that:o noone understands the cult-like qualities of the Subaru community:D

the "V7" (which is really just a V5/6 replica made to fit the new body) isn't so chunky around the trunk.
I have the 22B on my car (the red one pictured)... it's adjustable and all... when I got it it was my favorite, but my tastes have changed some what and I like some of the others better.
You may also want to look at the scoobysport... which I think is adjustable as well.
I like how the new STi wing hangs slightly off the trunk but not WAY off like the WRC replica.

Anyone know where else one might get the 04 STI wing besides the stealerships, or even a replica, preferably one that uses existing mounting holes?
| imprezausa | 06-02-2003 09:00 PM |
Any one know how much 04 STI wing cost??? From STEALERSHIP:D
Per Subigal
the rear spoiler comes prepainted as well...
see, the wing is 3-piece and $$$$....
as the car comes standard WITH the wing...
to price it out as an accessory item is very expensive...
20% off list price
spoiler - $460.00 (list = 578.64)
brake light - $195.00 (list = 245.35)
so... *gulp* total is $655.00
cool thing is that it's prepainted...
That should give you an idea of how much the stealership will charge ya.

While retail is a bit more, most of the stuff from the STi stuff from the dealer now could be had at vendor prices if the dealers are willing to cut you a break. Plus if one of the SOA parts distribution centers have it, most dealers can get you the stuff in a day which is nice for some.

If their price isn't much different that would be nice, especially since W&L is only 150 miles away, I could drive up there and avoid shipping. :D

the USDM STi wing doesn't have much character... It is a bit straight up and down and boxy... I like the older style wings (22b, V5/6) on both the RS and the WRX... I like the rally spoiler marginally more than the STi...

22b all the way over everything. Can't beat a 22b imo cuz it rocks :disco:

This is from Z1Auto.com guy, in case you missed it from the for sale by vendor section.
Back in stock..we have OEM rear spoilers from the '04 STi's (same rear spoiler as found on the JDM only '02-'03 Prodrive spec model as well).
White, blue and silver instock, black we are taking preorders on, as they are backordered at present. All spoilers are prepainted by Subaru Japan, and match the factory colors for '02-'04 WRX's. Also, all spoilers include the third brake light and harness as well.
Installation is very straighforward, as it uses a combination of existing factory holes (if your WRX has the factory rear spoiler), though additional holes are required to be drilled (very easy..we usually install these in about 30 minutes total).
Price is $569.99 plus shipping costs!!! Shipping ranges from $15.00 East Coast to $25.00 West Coast (all via Fedex Ground with tracking and insurance).
Alaska and Hawaii please call or email for shipping options/costs!
All major credit cards accepted, or you can Paypal us at [emailprotected]
Thank you
