trip to the philipines...

here's my situation...my mother-in-law is going home(philipines) for 2 weeks and has asked me what i want. So i need some ideas from you guys that i could get from there that wouldn't be too much of a hassle to lug back. Now here's the problem...she is leaving tomorrow, SUNDAY! So if anyone can quickly give me ideas it would be much appreciated. Tenx in advance.
I should be on pretty late so i'll keep checking.

if you have been to PI before, then you know most things there are fake! haha, seriously, fake. So dont count on buying a UTEC or something. Just get some polvoron (sp??) and some dried fish, a little shrimp paste, and youll be set:D

(perhapse you could have posted somewhere else)

hey! The things I liked best in the PI were the Fillipino girls! They are SOOO beautiful. Have her bring back a couple and warm up your bed :)

WHEELS, they are really really cheap there from what i remember. I know they aren't the real deal, but hey...they have to be strong...the roads there aren't exactly perfect. From memory i rememberd 17's being around 30-50 a wheel. Jus my thoughts...if not, you could always get some spoof tee-shirts.
"Inutel Inside" :D

ROTAs are made in the philippines so you can find those there... make sure they get the specific size to fit the Subies! and btw, good luck trying to find Subaru stuff!! Unless you know of good sources... everything is for Hondas, Mitsubishis and Toyotas! You can always buy those and sell them here and then go buy good Subie stuff with the money.:D:D i couldn't even find a freakin key chain.

ohhh. u can get HID-style bulbs..those are kinda cheap... my friend got me a set with the fog bulbs for about $20 and they are pretty bright and work really well. Everyone comments about how bright they are.

Unfortunately, Subarus are pretty rare in the Philippines. There are exactly 10 new age WRX and probably 18 GC8s.

If you had an EVO, then you could get stuff here. Contrary to popular belief, The Philippines probably has some good high horsepower cars running around. Lancer Evos are pretty much a common sight here (no not the fake ones) Some Skylines as well and tons of real Civic type Rs.

I personally have a Legacy twin turbo wagon and a version 2 STI RA and a recently sold Civic Type R

If you need anything, let me know
RSarte 09-30-2002 12:17 AM

STi hook-ups?

Hey rota wheels wrx,
Are you located in the Philippines?? I want an STi front clip (engine/trans/etc.)!! You think you could score one for me? give me a pricing list. I might be able to get someone from the philippines to send it over or bring it over, piece by piece. :D
I wished I saw some GC8s when I was there last December. There was a Subaru dealership in Cebu, where I stayed, but all I saw were Legacys and Forresters.
when I went to Manila, I hung out around Libis, where alot of street racing was happening, even with alot of people freakin walking around. Most of the cars I saw were Hondas and Mitsu's. I did see an Evo7 at this garage, for sale, on Katipunan(?) or somewhere. It was sweet and it was a LHD version. damn.
Anyways, PM me if you got hook-ups.

thanks,
Ray

you can only find japanese car parts in the northern part of the phillipines, thats where most shops that would carry stuff like that are located. and its more close to japan.
