I knew it was instructions only, but I've just been a Countach fan since I was 12 - would love to get those on my WRX!

If this can actually be done, I may be in. I got a :devil: on one side saying it's kinda ghey but, think about it, really no rice factor at all since you'd never know to look at the car, and it'd be tough to beat the :eek: :eek: you'd get every time the door opened!

The only reason why the Lambo's and other supercars have those kinds of doors is because they are soo phreaking wide. The driver wouldn't be able to open the doors, without hitting something next to him, if they didn't open that way.

Really? I mean, it's a LONG, LONG way from washer lights - no change in visual appearance at all (?). I realize it's a strictly "show" mod, so, ok, maybe rice on a stock rex. But if you were runnin' 12's, would it be kewl?

I don't think it's rice. It does add functionality if done right. But a high-strength hinge with a custom action for the wrx door is going to run a high high preice.

they barely seal at speed as it is... i'd hate to think what would happen if they didn't come in perpendicular to the car...

Good point. The Lambo's window angles in at about a 45 deg, so the door can go almost straight up/down and still get an OK seal. Since our windows are more straight up and down, seems to me the door would have to go up and out at some angle to get a reasonable seal.

Regarding the pics:
If you can't tell, the first one is definitely chopped. The other 2 look legit.
Regarding the doors:
I'd be very concerned about the seal after having work like that done. It's seems almost as sketchy as a custom convertible job.

I�m thinking the only way this would remotely look good would be on a GC8 coupe. The sedans doors are too short for it to look proper and the body is two square for the lines to flow right on a WRX. It would be intresting to see:confused:

Oh, and something just hit me.....(let me reiterate to those lighting their torches that I'm only having fun at the concept of these doors, not necessarily their reality/practicality).....
Dontcha think this would look much better on a wagon than a sedan? I think it's the roofline - mimics the roofline of a Lambo, i.e., 'cause wagon doesn't have a trunk.

$1599 and a couple hours time, no cutting, no welding, but they say some models have to roll the inner fenders. Adjustability to get the right fit. Sounds like they have a pretty cool product. No WRX application yet :( .

if any of you watch CSI, the episode on street racing, they pass by a car that is opening its door lambo style...now they didn't show the hood scoop, but from the fender, door, side, I'm pretty sure it was a BRP Gc8 with 22B widebody fenders...
thought it was pretty interesting / semi-relevant. heh

my buddy owns a speed shop and today we priced a set of those lambo door kits and holy lord. they were like $1850 if i remember correctly. you have to be put on a 6 week waiting list also so the company can specifically for your car. you get everything except the doors for the kit though ie hinges, brackets, gas shocks to hold the doors up. oh yeah this was the price for a 2 door kit also.

some local shop in Atlanta does this...they have it done on their CRX. it looks ok, but they moved the hinges to the outside on the a-pillar...of course our cars have frameless windows, so I would think it would be near impossible...
