What color paint?

I had an accident with my '04 WRX wagon and the whole car needs to be repainted. I was thinking of going with a color no other WRX would have, but I need some help deciding on one. I love the WR Blue, but it's too loud and I need something a little more sedate looking. I was thinking along the lines of the dark blue BMW offers, but I was wondering if anybody else has any ideas for a paint color.
green of some sort
I thought of a dark forest green, but my interior is geared towards blue. (HU and Gauges are Cobalt Blue) Also, I have an order of Gold wheels on backorder. Should I cancel the order or change the color of the wheels?

are you getting a full paint (i.e. are they taking out all ouf your interrior, engine, etc) ?

green and gold still looks nice

I would say a very dark green with those gold wheels would look pretty darn good. Not to mention that I have never seen a green wrx

look at djcttb's car he has a green wrx with gold rims and it is probably my favorite car on here

I'm not sure about that. Probably not, however two of my door-jams may need it considering the b/s has to straighten the frame and the paint has chipped away.

I Highly suggest the Nissan 300zx's Pearl White or Ferrari red with pearl... I've seen the red ferrari paint with pearl on a STI from a auto magazine and it looks sweet!!
With Gun metal or hyper black rims with silver polished lips....
Just....... Imagine~~..........

something more sedate?
moonrock metallic - a dark silver. looks hot with gold rims. I'll find a photo, but the other forum is down...
my girl wants a nice metallic copper/orange color. actually doesn't look bad in the photochops i've done.
unless you can get them to do the whole car (i.e. pull the seats, interior, etc) I might opt for the same WRB... Nothing looks worse, IMO, than when you open the doors (on only one side, no less) and the original color shows up out of nowhere.
see how much extra it's going to cost to have it done "right" ...
here's the "moonrock" (tho not with gold rims)

It is going through my insurance company, so I'll have to talk to the bodyshop owner and see how much out of pocket expense it would be to get the whole car done. If all else fails, is there anything I could add to the WR Blue to make it different from factory paint- i.e. add metallic flake?
I know I said I would like something "sedate" but I guess it really just comes down to having something different.

Well, if you're getting the whole car painted and don't want to deviate from WRB so that the door jambs and such don't look way out of place, yeah you're looking at adding something to the paint or clear (i.e. flake)... I think if you could get them to lay down a nice, super-smooth, defect-free, orange-peel-free worthwhile paintjob that alone would give you "something different" :D

You can add crystal flakes or add more pearl in the wrb... I've perosanlly never seen a wrb with more pearl or crystal flakes on it but I can asure that it will look hot...
Get something that won't bore you.. Or maybe even make you regret... " Oh man I should've gotten the flakes when I had the chance"
If you do plan on driving your car til it breaks down , get the original wrb color.. still nice color. But If I were you and had a chance to do something different , I'd def. do it

I like the idea of the flake or pearl. Doeas anybody think the gold flake in the JBP would look good in a WR Blue? The gold BBS look great on a black WRX, and we all know how nice they look on a blue one. Wouldn't the gold flake go with the blue in the same fashion?

If you like the steel gray metallic look, check out Toyota's paint code 1C6.
It's a graphite pearl. Looks real sharp. That's what my GC8 will have when it's worthy.

I like the BMW steel gray option.
I have seen a new color on a few sport compacts from one of the other manufacturers. I don't know the color name, but it is a copper/orange with metal flake. It looks nice on what I have seen. And the gold rims might be complementary.

Yea, I've seen quite a few Mazda 6's running around with that color, but somebody in my local area already has a scooby that color. Plus, I forgot that only the outside is going to be repainted, not the engine bay and door jambs. I haven't had a chance to talk to my body shop, but is there a way to add more "pearl" to the WR Blue?

sure. they add more flake to the mix. or add flake or pearl to the clear. or both. just make sure to bring the an exact example of what you want and make that's what you want. Don't want to end up looking too Hot Rod with huge metal flakes :)

Since they probably aren't going to respray the underside of the hood, engine compartment, etc. I would stick with a more subdued blue.

honestly i'd have to say go with green.
very unique, and you could easily make it work with a white "i" badge and bronze wheels.
