POLL: What do you guys think?
1 Attachment(s)
Guys - these are the new tail light clusters developed by our friends at Morette, the often imitated, never duplicated people that brought us the dual headlight conversions for our 2.5 RS ans WRX.
They have askd me to poll the US market to see about these taillights. These are nearing finalization now, and should be in our hands mid August. No firm pricing just yet, but it looks to be in the neighborhood of under $400 per pair.
Not looking for flames, as many of you know us as selling more stuff to go fast than look good, but as their US dealer, we gotta test the waters!
Thanks in advance

Id like them alot more if they were all flat and only had 3 lights. 5 is just to much. Makes the back of the car look like a space ship or something. What I really want to see is something like Skyline R34 taillights. Just a just 2 or 3 round lights flush with the rest of the car.

Personally I don't like em. They also look like they don't fit right, but that may just be the pictures.
| dubrx | 07-10-2002 08:33 PM |
Not a bad concept, but just doesn't look right to me. Needs to wrap around more from the sides without the indentation. It looks too much out of place. Looks much better than the altezza lights I must say.
| 6Pack | 07-10-2002 09:24 PM |
Very nice looking. I think it balances the car much better, especially when paired with the fronts. But you pretty much have to have them painted to match.

i dont own a wrx, so take my opinion for whatever you wnat...
anyways, i dont like them. i think they are way too busy. maybe a more simple design like 2 or 3 circles is enough. but 5??

Ditto on what every one else said. Way too many circle lights, keep it to maybe three, and redesign the pattern.

(just to qualify my statements I have a MY00RS)
I think that flush with the rear quarter panel would look better
These lights look bad-ass - they do make the car look like a space-ship but I like it!

I totally agree with Black2002WRX on this one. I dont understand why companies try to make things so complicated. 2 round lights each would be fine. Not trying to be rude or offensive, but those lights are really really ugly :(

way too busy... Good concept...bad design. Personally, I would never swap out my stock tails...

As most others said, too busy.
Even with the lame new Impala, Round taillamps have always been cool.
Vette, Ferrari, Skyline, old Impala
These cars didn't have 5 circles
A real world picture would be helpful also.

I completely agree.... waaaay too many circles.
| FUBAR | 07-11-2002 10:31 AM |
Can you even see the lights on from the side of the car. Looks as though the light shrouds block the lights from the side. Could potentially be dangerous. Oh yeah, I don't like them.

Heres what I mu limited photoshop experience could do. Something simple and still looks good.
| omio | 07-11-2002 04:17 PM |
They really give the Subaru and advantage in unique tailights. There will be no Civics with those.
| Paulie | 07-11-2002 05:31 PM |
Instead of making those tail lights, I think they should concentrate on another set of headlights that are just oval, eliminating the "side grille" pieces they currently use. Sorta like the red WRX on their site. That way, you could use ANY grille on them...
Anyhoo, not too fond of the taillights - too busy for me...
