Where to get a WRC wing

Hey all. I have an 04 Sti bone stock. I plan on doing performance mods once the UTEC comes out. I can't wait!! anyways in the mean time I wanted to some exterior mods. for the most part I want to leave it stock except for a wing. I'm not trying to become part of the subaru rally team but the wing looks sick.
| LYHTSPD | 04-02-2004 03:10 PM |
That wing is really huge. If you like it, go for it... just be careful about people wanting to walk off with it.
| STi_DREAMZ | 04-02-2004 03:24 PM |

| b_tapper | 04-02-2004 03:29 PM |

replica or real real probably cost more and that means less for the engine. either one works
| b_tapper | 04-02-2004 03:34 PM |
Yup the real on is pretty pricey, even used

Genuine Prodrive WRC Rear Wing
This is the real deal. Ultra-lightweight carbon fiber construction (weighs approx. 7 lbs). Actually used by Prodrive on one of their Subaru World Rally Cars (2001 WRC spec.). Painted blue and in excellent condition but paint does have some stone chips. Mounting will require drilling some additional holes in your trunk lid.
Only 1 available! Normal Prodrive retail over $4000.
PRO-WRCS Prodrive WRC Rear Spoiler -- $1650

I'll trade you for your trunk/wing. I have a spoiler-less WRB trunk, it'll fit your car and make installing the spoiler much easier (no holes to cover).
| STi_DREAMZ | 04-02-2004 03:58 PM |
i'll think about the trunk trade but not to sure about the wing yet i'll let you know though
| STi_DREAMZ | 04-02-2004 04:02 PM |
have any of you seen a replica of the wing on the subaru rally teamswebsite under interactive guide anywhere for sale
| Rebellion | 04-02-2004 04:10 PM |
are you looking for the cheese grater wing (most of 03 Season-04 Season) w/ the vertical slats)or the slightly older one (01 through part of 03 season)(w/o the slats)?
the one w/ out the slats is easy to find. The one w/ would be quite a bit harder since it's not exactly the prettiest thing out there and noone's made a replica.

Your car will truly be unique if you get it... I gotta see pics when you get it! Be careful though... someone may see and walk away with it... destroying your trunk in the process.

It's funny. With most rice, people who know what they're talking about laugh and those who don't think it's cool. Here, people who don't know what they're talking about will laugh, but those who do know what they're talking about will love it.
I don't think it's rice at all.

THERE is NO way that WRC wing with all the diffuser is Ugly. Goddamn I love that thing.
If you ever managed to get that Wing, I want PICS of it!!
I do not believe that the 2003 WRC wing has all that Carbon fiber like the new 2004 that debut in Mexico.

| piker28 | 04-05-2004 11:03 AM |
i was talking about the replica so people are aware. it will add a ton of weight to the trunk and no gurantee how exact it is with the diffusers and what not. the real thin well thats another story
| MB38 | 04-05-2004 03:59 PM |
That is a legitimate concern... whether or not the replica actually produces the correct downforce. If it wasn't designed to exact specifications, it won't work as the real one does.
And the fact that it isn't carbon fiber will add substantial weight, but nothing more than having a few goodies in the trunk... even the spare, frankly.

These WRC wings vary in condition and price, we offer these Prodrive competition wings on occasion also. All so far are from the 2002 season, and some are in mint condition, some are battered, depends also on what they (Prodrive are asking at the time) If one needs to be repaired it can get expensive, due to the composite material and primer and paint. For the street, unles you have your heart set on it, the replica is the way to go. How's it gonna feel when you come out from the movies or from dinner and your 1700-2500 dollar Sohlberg special is ripped out of the holes....?...Replica all day long, or just keep the stock sTI one.
I do have customers who have had their hearts set on an actual WRC wing, and thats kool too !! I want one for the garage in the new house !! Wall unit !! When we build our Spec-c race car we will use one on it, because it is functional, but thats another thread.

How heavy are the fiberglass replicas? Will they deliver the same down force if the shape is exactly the same as the real one?
