Keep the WRX badges on there and stick it right under it.

personally, I would put the STi sticker on an STi.
I understand the draw to putting it on a non-STi vehical, but I personally would never advertise my car to be something it's not.
Haven't you ever laughed at a hondah owner that put a Type R badge on?
Just my two cents.

Eh, id let the STi badge slide if I had STi parts on the car.

Great, not this debate again.
The "correct" place to put it if you had a STi would be by the keyhole. Put it wherever you think it looks good.
I put STi stickers on my car (not in the normal places, however) because I have/will have STi parts on my car, so it doesn't bother me.
IMO

You think your definition of Rice is a very biased one.

I would say STi is more like Alpina. If I had a BMW with Alpina parts on it, I'd have no problem representin' even though I don't TECHNICALLY have an Alpina.
STi is a tuning company, like Mugen, Alpina, AMG, NISMO, etc. etc.
Were it a whole "model" of car like a type R or GT-R, then yeah, there's a problem with that like putting WRX badging on a 2.5RS.
However, putting STi decals on a car with STi parts doesn't bother me.
Is it rice to put Mugen stickers on a Honda with Mugen parts? Of course, that's a bad example because you see crappy Honduhs with Mugen stickers every day so who knows what they have. Is it wrong to put a NISMO sticker on a Nissan with NISMO parts? I think you get my point. Now, put a type R sticker or a GT-R badge on aforementioned Honda and Nissan (respectively) and now you have a problem.
In short, STi stickers/some badging is okay. Now, putting a Type RA badge on a normal WRX (for instance) is where you get into problems.

A car is a car and more importantly, it is your car. If you feel like putting stickers/badges on it, even though you may not even have the parts or the politically correct car model, so be it, it's that person's car. All stickers/badges will be weeded out on a track, so what's the difference?

Stickers to show off that you have STi parts are one thing...
An STi *badge* on the right side of the trunk is what the STi *model* uses to say "hi, I'm an STi"...
Stickers are not badges... Badges are not stickers...
Just like a type-R sticker on the rear of the car indicates the Integra's trim level, the STi badge, on the bottom right of the trunk, is used to indicate a trim level...
Do whatever you want, it's your car, but if you put an STi badge on the bottom right of the trunk, don't pretend you're any different than all the North American Accord Type-R owners...
If you're bent on advertising that you have STi parts there are other ways to do it than impersonating the real car.

It's your car. Personally, I have an STi badge on my computer monitor. I swear it makes the Web run faster.
I have seen door stickers that say :STi Subaru Technica International, that I think are great if you have STi parts on a car.
But I'm with many other posters. An STi badge is for the STi, particularly with REAL STis to be running about in the not-too-distant future. It isn't quite as bad as the guy I saw with a VW GTI that had one of the Audi S badges on the grille, however.
Even when I had STi suspension (including bushings and rear links), grille and hood scoop would I have considered putting an STi badge on my car. I even took the pink STi badge off the grille.
Not that any of this matters, since it isn't our car.

as long as you have a genuine STi part, or car it's ok. slapping STi badges on your car is like putting type R on your 1987 carburated accord. If you have a STi grill, it has a Sti badge, so there is no need for another!

I have a full STi suspension pretty much, but I still wouldn't put the STi badge anywhere on my car. It's Sedona Red, so pink doesn't exactly look good on it :) However, if I had any other color car, I would follow the trend and put it next to my trunk keyhole.
Don't listen to these fools about the rice: it's your car, do what you want. You spent the money, you put in the work to make the money that you spent.

what a bunch of nitpickers. this rice calling has gotten way out of control. rice is a slow car that has tons of stickers, crazy bodykits with GT wings, neons and insignificant performance mods. having a small badge while the rest of the car is styled cleanly is not rice.

I really have no problem with placing a few STI badges, if you have at least one STI part. I was going to put on an STI badge, but being a welder, I would have taken alot of grief for having pink badges on my sportscar.

I personally feel everyone is entitled to their opinion and feelings on this debate. However, I happen to have STI decals on my doors, badge on the rear gate, and genuine STI fog light covers bearing STI decals but other than that my car is completely a genuine WRX. Now with that said I believe that Subaru Technica International is a Subaru affiliated tuner and the actual STI car is not based on a trim level but a WRX advertising the fact that it was tuned using Subaru Technica International designed performance parts and engineering. I would also like to add that I did not purchase the said STI items with intentions of deceiving others of the true authenticity of my WRX but I did purchase them to dress up the car to my liking. In fact I have had a few people comment on my "STI" and I was man enough to tell them that it was nothing more than a WRX which in my mind is powerful in its on way. Now for those who want to call it rice so be it the simple fact is that most of the WRX community and I wouldn't hesitate to say that a part of the Subaru community in general know that STI's do not exist here until the middle of this year. I personally like tha looks of the STI decals and badges and feel that they add a nice bit of character to the car that in no way harms anyone but may ruffle the feathers of those who just don't understand. On another note, you don't need decals to fool a person anyway. When I had my 2000 RS I had plenty of people commenting on how awesome the Impreza was with its looks and all that power for such a small car. I would say "all that power" they would say "yeah, you got 276hp right" and its all because of GT, GT2, and GT3 nuff said.

I like it by the keyhole.
The wagon pict look pretty good too.
Don't be discouraged by the anti-STi crowd.
How come most aftermarket parts come with stickers?
To put on your car to advertize the parts you have inside.
STi parts inside, STi labeling outside.
What about those folks with stickers on their car that don't have parts inside?
Free advertizing for companies they like.
Freedom of expression?
I bet that if you have a favorite band sticker on your car that band's music isn't always in the CD player.
I know a guy with a WRX wagon that has tons of racing stickers on his car, even though he doesn't have any parts by some of those companies installed. Some folks might call him rice, his son calls him daddy and the stickers are on cause the kid likes them.
I don't get why people make such a big deal out of this debate everytime it comes up. Ya'll must be bored to death to feel you have to take the time to post negative comments yet again and hijack someone's thread.
So if an STi grille comes with a badge on it, do you rip the badge off cause you don't want to get labeled and flamed or keep it cause that's the way it comes and you like it?
How about when you wear your Dockers slacks with your Armani shirt and Jockey underwear?
Which labels/logos do you pull so you'll still be cool?
