Seems simple enough. And you get a free backpack!

An intergrated, flush carbon fiber spoiler and that hatch would be set.

it looks as if its molded in.... look close. loos a little smaller, maybe saabaru*ish*
I have seen 'l'ansport (sp) CF roofs for sedans, now they just need it for the wagon...
hood/roof/hatch (paint the bottom portion under the window) and I thing it would look sick as hell

It just looks like there's a spoiler because of the indent for where the window goes. I asked before in the vendor forum and they said no spoiler.

if this is anything like the cf hatches for ek's then it will rattle like hell and drive you mad!

Yes, I am serious. How well will this hold up to the rigors of the road, the weather, and daily use? How well will the glass fit? I've read stories where carbon fiber hoods have had the hood-latch rip out on the freeway and fly up onto the windsheild/roof. How well is a carbon fiber hatch with a large, rear window going to stay put on the back of a wagon? So yes, I do question how well products are built. You just slap on any crap that you can buy for your car?

It would look better in Silver CF...
| kenny08 | 02-03-2007 02:07 AM |
i will eventually pick this up once there are some good reviews on it. im not down to be the test monkey
but dude makes a very good point, it may rattle and since its the first of its kinda, build quality/finish/durability could be questionable.

| SwisSlesS | 02-03-2007 10:51 AM |
At least if it rips off you'll still be able to see the road...
I'd be the test monkey if I had the money and wasn't leaving the country.

| MannyMohawk#5 | 02-03-2007 02:31 PM |
Yes, I'm aware of hood pins. That doesn't answer any of my questions though. If you have to modify a hood just to stay closed, how is a big hatch gonna stay put? I wouldn't trust it, but someone go ahead and buy it and let us know how it works out.

Don't forget you guys wont be able to use a normal glass window  the normal glass window is too heavy and also just wont be able to do that, you have to use some special type of window..just in case some of you didn't know that...
| dibblejr | 02-03-2007 04:53 PM |
If it comes off when driving down the road all of the trunk monkey's will jump ot and cross populate into the wild.
Being serious though it would probably shatter if you go off road. I never did like CF.

im just pionting out that you CAN use your OE glass and not some speical glass as you stated. i am not saying that it isnt alot of work.
bring it to a glass shop they do it for 80 bucks for just swapping the glass ( not sure about the wiper and heating lines.)

Carbon fiber trunk lids are not for "performance".. any way you cut it. They will never be better than OEM fit.. and they will save you maybe 10 pounds. You could go on a quick week long diet instead, and save yourself cost of hatch + food for a week.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
For anyone who wants real information on this, read the thread in the vendor forum: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1180309
Uses stock glass, wiper, defroster.

There ar CF hatches for many hatch/liftbacks in Japan, the 350Z being one
of them. Varis makes CF hathes as well.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I'm sure the manufacturer of this
product had to have enough requests for this in order to even entertain the
thought of making the mold.
I think its a kool idea. We'll see how it pans out.

Ive got a Silver OEM STi CF Hood and Silver CF trunk comming -- around march.... Ill post pics when I get them. Seibon's wait time has increased due to their past supply of CF fading. They have just switched CF suppliers and their new colored CF will not fade --- BTW if your ordering one of the older colored cf stuff..... it wont be warrantied.... so be careful when you find the 'too good to be true' pricing on that stuff.

its the fact of how long they have made them for EK and EG civics/other cars with half the power and potential... and havent until now made it for a car meant for track use

Real CF will not fade but the resin can cloud over time. real CF? ;) The
colored stuff is just that, however it is usually colored fibreglass. You
should ask specifically.
