Who Here Has ROCKBLOCKER!

I am just wondering who here has rockblocker and how you like it. Does anyone ever comment on it? Does anyone ever notice if you don't tell them? Has it ever yellowed thru or gotten stained?
Thanks...
Thanks...

One thing to add to that question, Who installed it, you or a dealer.

Rockblocker himself came and made a custom kit for my Do-Luck front bumper, and installed it as well. It's probably the most worthwhile peace of mind investment I've made for my exterior. I don't ever have to worry about having to repaint my front bumper due to rock chips or whatever might happen on long road trips. I've driven from Seattle to Canada twice already and it's held up perfectly. No yellowing or discoloring after having it since December.
Most people don't even notice it unless the look really closely. I'm sure you can't see it in this pic:

I've got it on my car, and Chad (RockBlocker) installed it.....benefit of being local ;). Worth every penny. On white, it's barely noticable IMHO. I would recommend it to anyone. Do yourself a favor and contact him.

If I were to order this, who would install it? Or should I say who do I trust?
| HoOn | 06-23-2004 10:46 AM |
I had someone in New Jersey install mine. azpinstalls did it for me. I had it done in New Jersey and now that I live here in FLorida, the clear bra really is a good investment with all the damn bugs! :)

your heads look kind of foggy.
| RockBlocker | 06-23-2004 10:47 AM |
That is a very good question. Some owenrs do it themselves and seem to be happy with it, but most take our advice and have it installed by a trained installer. We can try to help people find installers as much as we can. The bad part is we do not have installers all over the country everywhere that can do this for you.
Hoon, That would be Lee Berrebi who installed the kit for you. He is awesome. Nice pic BTW. Can I use it for the site?

Rockblocker,
You can also use this closeup if you wish. White is definitely the color you want to have coz you can't see it unless you point it out!

Any installers that you can recommend for the Austin area? How much should the installation cost? Thanks.
| Can't_Go_Slo | 06-25-2004 10:29 AM |
Three questions:
1) what's the difference between the Venture Tape and the 3M protection (besides price)
2) do you have protection for doors? people tend to hit other cars opening doors where i park sometimes
3) where around Pittsburgh can i have an installation done?

The best I can do for you is Houston, Sonny at Formula One.
Can't_Go_Slo
Basically nothing. Different companies offering different films. If you want looks and cleraness then go 3M if you want something stronger go Venture.
If you want soemthing for the doors you can get bulk material for that. It is a rectangle or square so it makes it easier. It will not stop door dings.
I dont know anyone in the Pitts area. sorry man.
If anyone has more questions let us know we would be glad to help.

Thanks Amber. One last follow-up, if you had a black wrx, would the venture tape stand out and look obvious, or poor to you?
| RockBlocker | 06-25-2004 03:19 PM |
Yes it would be more noticeable.
| mindchatter | 06-25-2004 03:51 PM |
I have it on my STi. Professionally installed at 1800 miles (I have 20K now). YES, it will defin. protect against rock chips/damage. It's virtually unnoticeable unless you've JUST washed, and even then only the edges are visible. I've gotten a comment or two when it was clean and sitting - most people mistake it for a "keying" until I explain, and then they're usually interested in it for their vehicle. The only thing I'd change is I would've had more put on, like on my corner splitters and the bottom of the front doors. Great stuff.

Yeah more towards Chicago are actually more like NW burbs if that's any better.
Some guy I saw at a gas station was showing me the 3M protection film and it looked like crap IMO. It was clear but the transitions were to much for me.
Thanks for the input Amber!
