Will the Prodrive Aston Martin(s) win LeMans? part 1

So Cal STI 06-12-2006 01:18 AM

Will the Prodrive Aston Martin(s) win LeMans?
Who will win in the GT1 class at LeMans next Saturday? Aston, Vette, Ferrari, or Lamborghini? I'm rooting for Prodrive Aston Martin ;) .
bemani 06-12-2006 04:40 AM

Those Prodrive cars will break down in under 12 hours. They won't wait until they run out of gas this year.
JZ oo7 06-12-2006 05:35 AM

corvette...sorry
wvallwheeldrive 06-12-2006 05:38 AM

Chevy has to much invested in winning this race those vettes seldom break
SPOOLN 06-12-2006 05:55 AM

I have to say the corbet.
CirrusWRX 06-12-2006 04:11 PM

I think the Ferrari looked hottt earlier this year... who knows though, going at it alone can sometimes make it very difficult.
JZ oo7 06-12-2006 08:16 PM

since we are on the topic of lemans, does anyone know if someone is gonna make a torrent of the whole race? i don't have SPEED coverage, so i'm out of luck. been downloading all my F1 and WRC coverage.
So Cal STI 06-12-2006 08:34 PM

I'd do the honors, however I've got a 15,000mi inspection to do that Saturday AM. So I'll miss the first half of the race.
REXLR8 06-12-2006 08:36 PM

i would love to see ferrari win this
MPME 06-12-2006 10:07 PM

no. sorry.
WRXedUSA 06-12-2006 10:21 PM

Well, if someone doesnt steal the Corbette's, they will be hard to beat.

Can't help but root for Stephane though.

I hope to have him over to the States to join Gary Sheehan for our 2nd attempt at winning the Thunderhill 25hr in the STI.
KAX 06-12-2006 11:16 PM

i think the astons will beat the corvettes until they break. they wont last the 24 hours, they are british after all.

Now that would be sweet.

Amen. Sadly, Petter and Atkinson have the Rally GB the same weekend as the 25.
pio!pio! 06-12-2006 11:47 PM

Sarrazin would be a better choice for a road race though :D
But...seriously? If so that would be awesome!

That would also raise the profile of the 25 considerably too!

Cool, thanks! I'd love to be there!
solo2wrx 06-13-2006 08:35 AM

I imagine if nothing goes wrong for the Chevy team than the Corvettes will repeat in victory yet again.
CirrusWRX 06-13-2006 09:34 AM

Is it going to be covered live by Speed?

I've got Windows MCE that can "tivo" it and turn it into something decently sized, but I only know how to download torrents, not post them. I'd be more than happy to do it if Speed is, in fact, going to air the coverage, and somebody can send me a primer on how to "post" a torrent.

(I even know how to strip out the commercials! w00t!)
kfoote 06-13-2006 09:38 AM

SPEED has 20 hrs of live coverage this year.

oh, and Corbette. LeMans is far enough away from Mexico that it won't get stolen.
Yotsuya 06-13-2006 10:49 AM

Probably Corvette; I wish Ferrari would get serious about racing that isn't F1...
That said I'd like to see the Prodrive Fords win, but I doubt they have the funding and experience GM has.
Chiketkd 06-13-2006 10:53 AM
corvette...sorry
+1 C6R FTW!!!
PA04STI 06-14-2006 09:23 AM

Maybe if the Vettes take out each other, but other than that not a shot in hell
Chromer 06-14-2006 09:34 AM

Someone else could take them out. Someone could drop oil in a bad spot of the track and take them out. Someone could drag gravel onto the track and give them a puncture in a bad spot... A kangaroo, or a spectator's car could jump in front of a Subaru... Lots of things can happen.

You're right about that...

I'm sure the Aston team is praying for that too...lol
SR20gawd 06-15-2006 10:05 PM

well if winning means you need to have a car that can fly... Aston is sure to win :D

We're getting closer...

Sounds like they did pretty well in qualifying, though.
