To All Vendors/ WRX Rainguards?!
Does any vendor out there offer rainguards for WRX? Like the ones available from Subaru Japan?
Here is the picture.

| korpse | 02-27-2002 08:14 PM |
how do they install?
| ChuckCheeze | 02-27-2002 09:15 PM |
installs in <20 mins
it has tape on the backside to stick onto the roof
the only issue i had was pulling the molding out very slowly, not to rip it. then there are about 6 clips that hold it in place.
i have the install instructions scanned in. i just need a place to post or i can email them to you.

i'd also be interested in a set of these if any of you vendors are thinking about stocking the item.

Yep, I'd buy them too!

I'd buy them also...
CHUCKCHEEZE: By any chance, do you have close-up pics of your car with the visor on it (the one already posted is tiny)? Also, roughly how much did you spend?

So then hows a group-buy work? I have bought things online many of times, but never from anyone on this site or through a GB. How's it set up? And once agian, i would like to know how much $ it would be and also if anyone has better/bigger pix of one installed on their car.

GREAT pix - thanks ALOT.
I think i like it more than I would. My old car had those wind-visors (but the windows had frames), but I fealt that the visors blocks a lot of vision out (it basically made the A-pillars look ALOT wider, since you really can't see thru the wind-visor). I was saying that I would not get them for my new car. But after seeing these, I think I have changed my mind.
It looks like THSE do not have that problem of the old ones - they look slimmer (I hope).
CHUCKCHEEZE - have you noticed a decrease in wind-noise?

hazdaz....i will take pics from the inside. there is almost no overhang.
windnoise...i notice little windnoise when on the highway. i didnt notice a decrease, just a slight increase.

That looks cool but it looks like one piece. How is it with opening the doors? Do they get in the way? Thanks.
| ChuckCheeze | 03-01-2002 11:21 PM |
there is about 1/2" clearance between the visors and the windows. i will try to get pics of that too soon.
| ChuckCheeze | 03-02-2002 06:54 AM |
i tried to get a pic of the slight overhang, but the overhang is only there if you put your face 4-6 inches from the window
here is the clearance from the windows

| amelnikov | 03-02-2002 12:56 PM |
So, we have what looks like a lot of people, lets contact some vendors and get a group buy going. Is anybody in the process? I will call Z1Performance on Monday if nobody gets anything going before then.

How much is it to including shipping to Canada?
| MackDaddy | 03-02-2002 04:16 PM |
Here's a price straight from http://www.acekensington.co.uk/sales/subaru.htm
E3610FE010 ROOF/SIDE VISOR - 5 DOOR 69.95 (pounds.) Which equates to $99.25 US. This is of course before shipping.
I'm down for a GB at this price or less.
Jim
PS - FYI E3610FE000 ROOF/SIDE VISOR - 4 DOOR 69.95

I'm interested under US$100. Here are a couple of things which may help:
(From the site: http://www.investuk-usa.com/faq/xq/asp/SarticleType.7/Other_ID.137/qx/other_show.htm)
VAT on goods and Services - Exports
No VAT or Customs duties are charged on goods exported.
(From the site: http://www.subaru.co.uk/mshow/accesslist.htm)
E3610FE000 ROOF / SIDE VISOR - SALOON
59.53 10.42 69.95 [base price, VAT, total]
E3610FE010 ROOF / SIDE VISOR - 5 DOOR
59.53 10.42 69.95 [base price, VAT, total]
So, in theory, MSRP to ship to the US or Canada is 59.53 British pounds + shipping.

OK, it was kinda rainy the last 2 days, and the more I think about it, is this rain-guard thing really that useful? My Primary reason for getting one would be for wind-noise (I like to drive with the window cracked open, even when on the HW), and my secondary reason would be for rain. Now, CHUCK CHEEZE said that there was actually a slight increasse in wind-noise :(
For the right price I would buy it, but I'm having second thoughts espesially since I noticed that not alot of rain came into the car normally with the window cracked. If theres going to be a GB, how's it set up? Lookin to hear what the GB price might be, and then i'll decide.

windnoise
i only notice the noise when the windows are all closed and driving on the highway. it is just white noise. i have tuned it out already.:p
but once the windows are open, no noise.
