yay or nay - smoked headlights/tail lights on my rex

thinkin about smoking the head lights and tail lights with the rock blocker film....should go with the dark theme of my car yes? or just leave it?

First, I traded my tailights to the 04/05...then i tinted that *****! Ill take some pics so you can see....but id def say tint em

Not really a fan of the smoked look. Maybe for the tails but the headlights would look better just cleared.

Lightly smoked tails from hotsubarus.com looks good on SGM. I'm thinking of doing the same to my wagon.
As for your headlights, I'd say nay... clear them instead.

Yah im gonna put some sti pink springs on my car after stage 2, which should be in a bout a week btw. Thats actually a really bad angle of my car, because those tires fill out my wheel wells pretty well and it usually looks about right. But yes, pink springs soon as well.
I wish i could try the smoke film and send it back if it looks like garbage haha...well see

Don't tint your lights. Reduced light output is a very bad idea.

nay, you should never tint your lights, last time i checked, they gave off light, and lighting the way when it's dark out is a GOOD thing!!! i hate when guys tint there lights, reduced light output is very bad!

^^^ Maybe it's the picture, but the film makes your headlights look brown (could look nice with some dark bronze XD9s to complement them, however :devil: ).
I agree on the light output, but OFW, I'm gonna give the tails a try.

Although it may look ok and all I would rather be able to see at night then have smoke headlights . I would also rather not get rear ended than have smoked taillights :rolleyes: ..This is my opinion though....

im not sure if the smoked taillights really block enough light so that another car cant notice you from behind.
In my wrk parking lot there is an 05 wagon with lightly smoked headlights and taillights with black rims...ill tell yah it looks very tastefull and real nice. I went and had a look at the headlights they didnt look too intense..not as dark as the above pic.

i agree, except for foglights with the yellow film... i think that looks clean and would help cut through the fog a little...
as for a side note... i also agree about the 04-05 tails looking better, but who the heck are the 06 owners trading with?? it seems like no one likes the 06 tails...

after thinking it over i think smoked tailights are kinda boring...i think the red brake calipers accent the red in the taillights well...in my mind i pictured a much lighter smoke but i havnt seen one like that yet

They are hard to photograph and will look different in different light.

I'd say w/the color of your car, a nice light tint on the taillights would be good...the color contrast + the color of your wheels would probably match up really nicly...as far as the headlights go, i'd say nay on that as well
